What a lovely sunny Saturday, it may well be our last chance before the bad weather sets in, so off we went to recce the 70 mile route, well the from the cut off of the 50 mile route through onto the 100 mile route at Leighton. Recce team - Andy B (me), Ashley, Dave P, Ottavio & Paolo (our 2 Italian bikes haha). After parking up at Sprockets we made our way through Morville and down the Corvedale to the start of the '70' see pics below .... The start of the '70' is to bear left to join the B4378 from off the B4368 ('50' run in to Bridgnorth) Follow the road into Brocton and turn left at the cross roads shown here above ... At Easthope follow the road around to the right (Much Wenlock) and CLIMB up onto Wenlock Edge (>_<) Turn right here, past the Wenlock Edge Inn (have a pint in the sun why not?) and up onto Wenlock Edge Turn sharp left here towards Hughley - BEWARE ! long fast descent :)) Through Kenley towards Harley, take left turn here into 'Wood Land' and continue towards Cressage. Junction of 'Wood Lane' & A458, turn left towards Shrewsbury On bend turn right (Straight on) onto B4380 towards Leighton (Feedstop) Over the river Severn .... At this T Junction turn Right onto B4380 & 100 mile route towards Leighton feedstop & home to Bridgnorth ;) Basic map of loop route, an elevation profile of the route is shown below.
